Symmetry
Posted by David Mazure | Filed under Digital, Drawings
It’s two-fer-Thursday! First, I have updated my Artist’s Statement (in the menu above if you’re interested) or click here. Second, I just made these symmetrical drawings/designs and was wondering what you thought. Are they interesting? Boring? (Feel free to argue with one another about their validity as art objects!)

November 12th, 2008 at 9:44 amI think they are interesting! I like the colors together, and the symmetry and depth - they remind me of transformers, which is odd, because I don’t really know much about transformers…

November 13th, 2008 at 2:04 pmlot’s of movement, but not in a random or haphazard way. These drawings provide a peek, from ever changing perspectives, of structured universes within other universes. In a nuclear explosion, i imagine, the appearance of chaos & destruction on the macro level & the revealization & re-ordering of crystalline structures on the micro level.

November 17th, 2008 at 1:51 pmwig that’s deep. I’d say they’re valid Dave. They kind of all turn my thoughts toward Satan. It’s kind of like his face is hidden there somewhere… and his surroundings are obvious.

November 17th, 2008 at 2:14 pmJessica: It’s funny how everyone is seeing Transformers in these!
Kyra: I think Gary was offended by your comment. You should call and apologize — set things straight.
Wig: Like a moron, I accidentally deleted your comment while I was deleting all of the spam that I got on here recently. Sorry!
Brody: Cool thoughts man! . . . well, up until the South Park reference!
Odd how people are seeing similarities to animation. I wonder why that is? Anyone know?
