K.A.S. Gallery: Black & White Exhibit

And. . . another show! Not a big surprise that I would enter a show titled: Black & White, huh? I will have one piece at the K.A.S. Gallery in Louisville, KY for their Black & White Exhibit which runs from October 29th – December 10th, 2010. I’m very excited about this show because this will be the first time the below piece has ever appeared in an exhibit. It is a monotype etching (intaglio) titled Incoherent Thought-Pattern:

It seems as if it’s just show after show these days (getting hard to keep track of them all!) The next exhibition my work will appear in will be Art Nexus at the Arts Guild of New Jersey. It runs from October 15th – November 4th, 2010, with an opening reception on Sunday, October 17th from 1-4pm.
Here is a brief explanation of what the show is all about:
“From 1999-2008, Arts Guild New Jersey presented “Celebrating Excellence” an exhibit which featured artists from our home area—Union County, New Jersey. Our audience, however, spans the counties in the North and Central New Jersey area and we have expanded the scope of the exhibit this year to be open to all artists who either live or work in this state. It has been a policy for our exhibits since 1999 to focus primarily, but not exclusively on the very talented emerging artists of New Jersey. Too many people seem to think that great art in the Eastern U.S. only can be found in our neighbor to the north—New York City, where, granted, many of the notable contemporary artists are represented by some of the best galleries in the country, if not the world. We believe that the talent of New Jersey artists is underrated, undervalued and not considered to live up to the standards to be found in the Big Apple. During the course of each year, in order to organize the art exhibits we present, it is necessary to review a LOT of art by a LOT of people, and we have found, without exception that the art we have come across that is created by New Jersey artists can be every bit as innovative, technically excellent and insightful as artwork found anywhere else—including New York City. During our past season (2009-2010) we featured dynamic artworks by no fewer than 100 artists and nearly 70% of those artists were from this state. NEXUS NJ is a celebration of the work of New Jersey artists.”
