Whew! It is going to be a busy Fall. I am excited to announce that my new work, Defeated/Amputees (WAR) will be appearing in the following upcoming exhibitions:
Disaster/Resilience at the Harwood Art Center in Albuquerque, NM from Oct. 4th – Oct. 25th, 2013. This show is dedicated to new and experimental work addressing contemporary social justice issues.
Continuous Present-Tense at Tulsa Living Arts in Tulsa, OK. This is a performance-based event taking place on Oct. 3rd & 4th, 2013. The theme of the exhibition: What does it mean for a live piece of art to be continually in the present tense? If a performance piece is to transcend spatiotemporal limitations and engage with a wider audience it must be able to be documented or replicated in some manner. The work in the exhibition will focus on the act of capturing a live moment in time with the act of documentation and re-creation being a fundamental aspect of the work itself.
Re: Working, Thinking, Seeing at the Department of German Studies, University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, OH. This exhibition will be in conjunction with the eighteenth annual focus on German Studies Conference in the Max Kade German Cultural Center. The theme for this year’s conference and exhibition is adaptations of German literary and art works. The conference and exhibited art will seek to explore what it means to adapt a narrative in the twenty-first century. The work in the exhibition will present new artworks that reflect on, take inspiration from, or build on existing German print, film, stage or visual art works or familiar German myths, characters or themes.
Check back here soon for more on these exhibitions in the near future.
