The Morrison School

The Morrison School in Bristol, VA is having an auction! (I do not yet have the exact date and time of the auction, but will post a follow-up once that information becomes available). They will be auctioning off artwork to support their school whose mission is: “. . .prevent attention and learning disabilities from becoming lifelong handicaps that interfere with educational, job, and personal success.” For more information on the Morrison School go here. Axioms of Gesture

For those of you heading to New Mexico in the upcoming month — come check out my lenticular print drop-ceiling installation, Altruism w/-1/2 Spin at the Runnels Gallery at Eastern New Mexico University for the Axioms of Gesture juried exhibition. Axioms of Gesture is ‘a digital show devoted to the spirit of human movement. It will explore the artistic interpretation of human movement and how people move through time and space.’ Axioms of Gesture runs from the 3rd through the 29th of September. Pictured below is an image of Altruism w/-1/2 Spin as it appeared in my thesis exhibition Schema in 2009:

For those of you who have had your eye on this little diddy, you can kiss your dreams goodbye! Evolution of a Thought has been sold! It has been hanging in the Chapel Hill Town Hall (as part of the Public Art Series) for a few months this summer and it caught the eye of a passerby — and just like that, it is no longer in my possession! I greatly appreciate all of the help Steve Wright (Public Art Coordinator) has given me throughout the exhibit — thanks for being extremely accommodating!

East Stroudsburg University

The search is over! After months and months (and months!) of applications, phone interviews and day-long, on-campus interviews, I have finally decided to accept the Assistant Professor of Graphic Design position in the Art Department at East Stroudsburg University (in the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania). I am very excited about the new position and Kyra, Indira and I are excited about being closer to family and friends!

Chapel Hill Town Hall Public Art Series

I will have 15 of my drawings and prints on display in a three person show at Chapel Hill Town Hall (NC) as part of their Public Art Series. The other two artists participating in the show are Jean Chevalier and Quentin Warshauer. For more information, check out the website here. This show is exciting for two reasons. The first is that I have almost all of my artwork currently on display either in Chapel Hill or Abingdon (so no artwork clutter around the house) and that I get to show one of my favorite prints that I haven’t shown for quite some time, Jungian Whim (below):

For those of you who plan on seeing the show, please ignore the images below (as it will ruin the fun!).

Here are some shots (courtesy of Ed Mazure) of my current exhibition on display at the William King Museum in Abingdon, VA. The show was/is a success and I am very much looking forward to hearing some feedback on my latest work — so, please, come see the work and let me know what you think! It will be on display until August 22nd, 2010.

Also, throughout the spring/summer I will be posting more detailed versions of some of my newer work that appears in this exhibit, as well as a domestic installation that I am working on, so stay tuned!

If and when you see the show, you can walk right through that doorway and check out Heide Trepanier’s paintings. (Highly Recommended!!)
