Juror’s Choice!

I would like to thank the juror, George Shackelford, for selecting Defeated/Amputees (WAR), for the Juror’s Choice Award at this year’s Masur Art Museum‘s 50th Annual Juried Exhibition. Below are some images (borrowed from the Masur Museum’s Facebook page) from the exhibition along with the juror’s statement:

“And I Feel Fine”

I am pleased to announce that soon I will be heading down to Athens, GA (yes, home of REM, as the title of the exhibition suggests) to install my brand-new work for the first time at ATHICA. The show’s theme is that of the apocalypse and is titled “And I Feel Fine”. Since my new series of work, titled New Mythologists: The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, has the same theme, it is perfect for the show. On exhibit will be two of the horsemen: 1) my new experimental, tire rubber silkscreen installation, Defeated/Amputees (WAR) along with the wall painting DEATH Logo. I will also be conducting my first-ever performance based work at the opening on Friday, January 25th at 7:00pm.

I am honored to be exhibiting with such a fine group of artists. Please check out their websites at the links on the ATHICA website (right below the black balloons).

First Place!

I am happy to announce that I’ve won First Place in The von Liebig Art Center’s National Art Encounter 2012-13! Check out some of the jurors’ statements here. And check out some views of the exhibition and other artists whose work appears in the show here. I would like to thank the jurors Margaret A. Miller, Corrina Peipon, and Dulce Román for selecting my work for first place. I would like to send a special thanks to Curator Jack O’Brien for installing my work properly (after I sent him the wrong directions!).

National Art Encounter 2012-13

Where will you be Dec. 8th – Jan. 26th? Maybe you’ll take a trip to Naples, FL to see this year’s National Art Encounter at The von Liebig Art Center. Why? Because I’m in it, of course! I am very excited to have one of my new pieces accepted into this national juried exhibition. Pictured below is the piece that will apear in the National Art Encounter 2012-13:

“When I become DEATH, DEATH is the seed from which I grow.”
